Encore Boston Harbor features 210,000 square-feet of gaming space including more than 3,000 slot machines and 240 table games. Situated on the Mystic River in Everett, Massachusetts, and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor boasts 671 spacious hotel rooms, a spa, salon and fitness center, specialty retail shops, 15 dining and lounge venues and more than 50,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting spaces. The grounds feature a six-acre Harborwalk with pedestrian and bicycle paths that provide access to the waterfront, an event lawn, public art and ornate floral displays. It is the largest private, single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Encore Boston Harbor Manager, Employee Engagement and Communications will drive the goals and daily operations of the Employee Engagement and Communications team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing a team to offer exceptional internal service through developing and executing recognition programs for high-performing staff, planning and delivering Team Member engagement events and campaigns, developing written communications, and creating innovative and exciting programs to enhance the daily experience for and celebrate the Encore Boston Harbor team.



  • Plan and deliver small and large-scale internal engagement events, spontaneous energizers, and special displays of gratitude for employees.
  • Create Team Member engagement surveys, analyze results and develop recommendations for new programs and improvements on current initiatives.
  • Manage the administration and delivery of a company-wide gratitude and recognition campaign.
  • Oversee the creation and deployment of communications through various mediums including but not limited to written, visual, and other multimedia.
  • Devise a robust internal communications calendar of activities and announcements, including fun employee communications and engagement projects.
  • Ensure company initiatives, workplace compliance campaigns and company milestones are communicated to employees in effectively engaging, inspiring, creative, and innovative ways.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Team Member QMM, Town Halls, celebration events, and “pop-up” appreciation events.
  • Provide regular reporting and metrics of internal communications initiatives.
  • Coach and manage a team to deliver exceptional internal service to our Team Members.
  • Balance multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.

Job Requirements

Age, Gaming and Certifications:

21 years of age or above

Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (E.G. Marketing, Communications, Business) or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of event planning, marketing, or human resources experience required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing/supervising staff is preferred.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office with Adobe experience preferred.
  • Experience working on brand, marketing, and/or engagement campaigns with a track record of creating exceptional marketing assets including emails, printed materials, visual collateral, and more.
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex concepts into simple, user-friendly messages for multiple employees’ backgrounds.
  • Strong organization and time management skills that enable the team to prioritize and manage a high volume of detailed work with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate routine and accelerated work requests with suppliers and manage internal corporate expectations
  • Capable of visual storytelling and message simplification
  • Passion for employee engagement and cultivating a culture where employees can thrive

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from other team members or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus.  Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Mathematical and Reasoning Ability:

Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and create reports upon request.
