Encore Boston Harbor features 210,000 square-feet of gaming space including more than 3,000 slot machines and 240 table games. Situated on the Mystic River in Everett, Massachusetts, and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor boasts 671 spacious hotel rooms, a spa, salon and fitness center, specialty retail shops, 15 dining and lounge venues and more than 50,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting spaces. The grounds feature a six-acre Harborwalk with pedestrian and bicycle paths that provide access to the waterfront, an event lawn, public art and ornate floral displays. It is the largest private, single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Encore Boston Harbor Senior Recruiter is a member of the HR department and sources, screens, and recommends talent for hiring managers to interview. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: carrying out the recruitment strategy; establishing strong partnerships with hiring managers, finding creative opportunities to build applicant pools, and recruiting and hiring a diverse and local workforce.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of talent for hard to fill and evergreen positions through utilization of the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with managers and department administrators to discuss changing needs, consult on hiring practices, and to identify resources for sourcing.
  • Recommend creative recruitment strategies to obtain qualified, local, and diverse candidates for resort operations including, but not limited to: job fairs, social media, and coordination with local community partners.
  • Consistently monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of employment programs by using metrics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Regularly report to department heads of hiring status for their open requisitions.
  • Conduct pre-screen interviews , facilitate group, panel, and one-on-one interviews, and schedule interviews for referrals and hiring managers as requested.
  • Initiate pre-employment process for offered candidates, conduct new hire offer appointments, and assist with new hire paperwork.
  • Oversee and conduct 1:1 training sessions with new leaders on proper use of the applicant tracking system.
  • Meet or exceed the hiring goals on a weekly basis as dictated by position openings.
  • Train less experienced Recruiters on advanced recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Adhere to all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards.
  • Participate in the execution of short-and long-term recruiting goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
  • Contribute to employment team performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures, records and reports.
  • Follow all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and controls property wide.
  • Deliver and maintain a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction, specifically with regards to recruiting and meeting hiring needs.
  • Keep informed of all new developments within the department and makes recommendations designed to maximize department and company success.
  • Provide excellent internal and external guest service.
  • Balance multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Must have the ability to promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with all team members, with all Encore contractors, and in all interactions within the Host and Surrounding communities, as an ambassador of the Encore brand.
  • Work with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:

18 years of age or above

Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Degree or Equivalent required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.

A minimum of 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, recruiting, or staffing experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.

Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems required.

Second language fluency preferred. Intermediate Cantonese,  Mandarin, or Spanish desired.

Proven experience with planning and project management.

Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from other team members or guests. Fluency in English required, fluency in a second language a plus.  Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Mathematical and Reasoning Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to decipher various reports and create and maintain reports upon request.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least twenty-five (25) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.  When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Team Members must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
